Natural Soap-Making Workshops at WTZ in Jastrzębie-Zdrój on 11 August 2025
On 11 August 2025, at the Occupational Therapy Workshops (WTZ) in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, a unique ecological workshop took place, organised by the One More Tree Foundation in cooperation with the programme’s partner – Stellantis. The event was part of the Green Pulse of Silesia initiative – a long-term educational and social project aimed at building environmental awareness, promoting sustainable lifestyles, and engaging local communities.
On that day, WTZ participants had the opportunity to create their own natural soaps – fragrant, plant-based, free from unnecessary chemicals, and friendly to both the skin and the environment.
Natural Soaps – Creativity in a Bar
Before the hands-on part began, the facilitators introduced participants to the world of natural soap-making. They explained which ingredients are worth using, their properties, and how conscious consumer choices can reduce our impact on the environment.
The prepared workstations enticed with the scents of essential oils, the colours of dried flowers, and herbs. Each participant could choose their own fragrance and visual composition – from classic lavender, through energising citrus, to refreshing mint. Within minutes, the room was filled with a mix of aromas, turning the workshop space into a fragrant little manufactory.
Support Every Step of the Way
Throughout the workshop, the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. Our team offered advice, a helping hand, and positive energy, supporting participants from the very first step to the final touch. Everyone could work at their own pace, and whenever questions or challenges arose, there was always someone ready to help.
Working together encouraged conversations and the exchange of experiences. Participants gained a practical skill while also learning how small, everyday decisions – such as giving up plastic packaging – can make a real difference for the environment.
A Creative Space that Brings People Together
Each participant was free to design their soap according to their own concept – choosing the colour, fragrance, and a unique mix of ingredients. When the time came to remove the bars from their moulds, wide smiles and excitement spread across the room. Every soap was different, reflecting the creator’s individual style. Fragrant, colourful, and diverse – each one was truly one of a kind.
The Final Result – Fragrant and Unique
By the end of the day, the tables were filled with dozens of soaps – each different, each unique. They varied in scent, colour, shape, and finish. Some contained delicate flower petals, others caught the eye with bold colours, but they all shared the fact that they were made in the spirit of zero waste and with nature in mind.
Participants proudly admired their creations, exchanged impressions, and compared results. The air was filled with the scents of lavender, mint, and citrus, and amid the laughter and conversations, there was a clear sense of satisfaction from a day well spent. These workshops proved that even something as simple as making your own cosmetic can bring joy, teach mindfulness, and have a real impact on the environment.
