Planting of 50 trees by S&P Global in Gdańsk on 16 September 2025
On 16 September in Gdańsk, another employee volunteering action took place with the participation of the S&P Global team. That day, 17 engaged employees joined forces to care for urban greenery and make a real, lasting contribution to the city spaces used daily by residents.
From the very beginning, the work was accompanied by positive energy, cooperation and a shared goal – to create a place that would become greener and more nature-friendly over time.
Preparing the Site and Laying the Groundwork
Before the young trees were planted, volunteers focused on clearing the area. Together, they removed weeds and nettles and prepared the soil for new plantings. This stage often remains unseen, yet it is essential for the healthy growth of trees in the years to come.
Teamwork made it possible to complete all stages efficiently and showed how much can be achieved through cooperation and shared commitment.
50 Young Oak Trees – An Investment in the Future
The key moment of the action was the planting of 50 young oak trees. Oaks are trees of special significance – symbols of strength, longevity and nature that endures for generations. Their presence in the city brings tangible environmental benefits, including improved microclimate, shade during hot days and support for local biodiversity.
Each planted tree is a decision that will influence the surrounding space for decades. Although the saplings are still small today, they will gradually become an important part of the urban landscape.
Trees That Will Last for Years
The planted oaks will grow and transform their surroundings with each passing season. This initiative is an example of actions whose results are not immediate, but lasting and long-term. It clearly shows that caring for nature is a process that requires time, consistency and collective effort.
Volunteering That Truly Changes the City
We would like to thank S&P Global for their time, hard work and genuine commitment. This action is further proof that employee volunteering is not about symbolic gestures, but about concrete actions that remain part of the city’s landscape for years to come.
Planting trees together is not only hands-on work – it is also about building responsibility for the places we live in.
